Do you want to start a collection of super cool vintage clothing? Maybe there is a particular era from history that you are fond of and want to own some, if not all, of the fashion from that time in history. Vintage clothing and the clothes from various eras in history tell a lot about what was going on during that time in the world. Things like bell bottom jeans in the 70's to funky poodle skirt's in the 50's. Whatever your interest in history, you can start a vintage clothing collection about it.

One of the best places to start getting your collection together has to be online. There are many websites, especially eBay, that have tons of different clothes from different times. A lot of these have some amazing deals as well. Heck, you may even get lucky enough and find pieces of vintage clothing that are still brand new and never been taken out of the package or worn. Online vintage clothing websites also never ever close so you can shop anytime you want. the only down fall is that you do not get to see the item in person before ordering it but usually there are plenty of pictures to judge whether you want to buy the item or not.

The next place to look is a little harder because it may involve getting up bright and early on a Saturday morning but it is yard sales. Sure, you have to be the first one on the lot to get the good stuff but you would be surprised on what you may find and the deals as well. You can usually get some amazing stuff for literally pennies.

Second hand clothing stores are also sometimes good sources for your vintage clothing collection. Usually there is at least one of these in every town and the inventory can turn over fairly quick so taking a quick peek in these stores every few weeks may result in some great finds. You may even be able to befriend the clerk to hold things for you in the era that you are interested in.

And the cheapest way may be just to raid you older relatives closet! Who knew that they would have something cool!

These are just a few of the ways to get a good kickstart on a great vintage clothing collection. There are many interesting eras to start collecting from and some may say that you'll be the best dressed on the block.
